MR. SEWER MAKES NATIONAL DEBUT

America’s newest sewer and drain service franchise is making it’s national debut at the 30th annual Pumper/Cleaner Expo, in Louisville, Ky.

Mr. Sewer Franchising Inc. announces their expansion plans for 2010. They call themselves America’s Sewer-Hero, and Your Drain Expert. Mr. Sewer is seeking qualified candidates to offer their services nationwide.

"Sewer and drain cleaning is a necessary service that thrives regardless of the economic climate" says company President, Bruce Winborn. We place heavy emphasis on doing the job right and customer satisfaction, not just marketing, Winborn said.

The Franchise Company is based on the original Mr Sewer concept that began in 1982, in Peoria, Illinois. Winborn said "We took our Peoria business model and added many upgrades in order to make it franchisable. Our service vans are equipped with notebook computers, GPS systems and wireless internet. This greatly improves response time, a critical factor in this business."

Research shows that there is a demand for a quality brand for this industry. Since most of the other competitors have saturated the market, many independent operators and start-up businesses are interested in our concept. Our biggest advantage is a willingness to work with smaller contractors and in medium-size markets that other franchisors ignore. "Every city and Town in America can benefit from a well-run local service such as Mr. Sewer and our goal here at the expo is to find qualified prospects" Winborn says.

Mr. Sewer developed a cult following after being featured on You Tube. The information videos featuring Bruce Winborn, generated inquiries around the country asking about franchise opportunities. One inquiry was from a franchise development company from the Eastern United States. "We put our heads together and developed a franchise model like no other. I only wish this was available back when I was starting out." says Winborn.

A self-taught entrepreneur himself, Winborn began his business in 1982 with $3,000 of borrowed money and a used Ford station wagon. With nearly thirty-five years in the sewer and wastewater industry he feels that makes him better qualified to head his company than a executive-type CEO. "This is a very demanding job, and when the going gets tough I hope that our Franchisees will respect my advice, because I’ve done it all myself, I still get out there and get dirty". Winborn laughs and concludes "I’ll bet I’m the only corporation President out there that wears overalls."

HOMETOWN HEROS

Some say that you can’t be a hero in your hometown. Mr. Sewer wants to prove that the old axiom is not always true.

Although Mr. Sewer is a national franchise, they place a heavy emphasis on their local franchisees, something they refer to as Personal Branding.

"Personal branding puts a personality in the business element. People like doing business with real people that can relate to their situations and needs. In this fast-paced and often impersonal world we now live in, people want servicepersons that take the time to explain things and speak from experience." Said Loretta Winborn, Secretary of Mr. Sewer Franchising, Inc. "Our franchisees know their service territory and the unique characteristics of different towns and their neighborhoods.

The people of your local Mr. Sewer Franchise live and work in their service areas.

They pay state and local taxes, their kids go to school there, they have a genuine interest in their areas, and we feel that is important, it’s just good business." She also adds "Our goal here is to take the best of local independent contractors and give them the technical and marketing programs they need to be the best they can be. By doing this the local franchisee can devote more of his time to serving his local customer base. The customer is the ultimate winner here, because they get the service and attention they deserve, and we do the same for our franchisees, and since our success depends on their success, you know that we are committed to helping them in any way that we can. This is a three way win-you just can’t beat that !"

YES, HE’S FOR REAL !

Many people have asked about Mr. Sewer. Is he for real ? Is that his real name?

The answer is yes, he is for real, but no, that is not his real name. Bruce Winborn, a Central Illinois native (Peoria, Illinois) started his sewer and drain cleaning business in 1982. He called it Mr. Sewer, a name very well-known in the Peoria Metro-Area.

At 6’5 tall and a burley 300-plus pounds, he was hard to miss. With his 20 inch arms and bib overalls, the bearded sewer man was quite well-known and always had more work than he could handle.

After nearly 30 years, he still has a beard and wears overalls, but he’s not quite as big as he was in his earlier days. Winborn said in a recent interview " I may not be the man that I used to be, but I have forgotten more than a lot of guys will ever know, and my experience more than makes up for my age."

And apparently many other people agree. He still runs his sewer and drain business and is always busy. He is know as "The Man To Call" for drain problems.

Today, people all around the country call him wanting to learn how to start their own operation similar to his. The inquiries became more frequent after Winborn’s 2008 video debut on You Tube.

"People would call and e-mail wanting to know if Mr. Sewer was going to franchise?" Winborn said. In July of 2009, Mr. Sewer Franchising, Inc. was formed.

"I used to say that I wish that I could clone myself. This is the next best thing." Winborn said. He asks prospects "If I can help you make a dollar, then you don’t mind giving me five cents of it, do you?" "I wish someone would have made me that offer 30 years ago," he said.

NEW VIDEO SERIES TO BE RELEASED

Due to popular demand, a new information video series is scheduled for Spring, 2010. This announcement came from Chief Operations Officer, Martin Winborn of Mr. Sewer Franchising, Inc.

We are going to do a new series that gives viewers good information and at no cost to them. These videos will be featured on the Mr. Sewer USA website. They will be shot in a studio setting and Bruce Winborn will star in the new version. These new videos are based on the original homemade clips that are still seen on You Tube.

When asked about the new videos and You Tube, Martin Winborn said that because of the compressed format, some of the original series suffered from poor quality and lighting difficulties. "Our videos are shot in high definition, and the You Tube version is in standard definition. We are hoping to use the higher quality video clips on the website and make viewing easier and clearer for our website visitors.

Martin Winborn also said that the new series will be in two segments: part one will be consumer oriented, while the second part will focus on a recent interview with his father, Bruce Winborn, President of Mr. Sewer Franchising, Inc. The younger Winborn laughs and concludes We’re not going to let dad talk as much as he did on the You Tube series, he gave away too much information on that one. I will direct the new series and cut the cameras, when he gets on one of those speeches of his, this is going to be our best effort yet."

D-I-Y WELCOME

This abbreviation should stand for Destroy-It-Yourselfers, because that is what happens in many cases. Many would be Do-It-Yourselfers end up calling a professional anyway. This is especially true with sewer and drain cleaning.

Some people have luck with rental drain equipment, while others end up with a bigger mess, than when they first started. Often two or more pieces of equipment are needed to finish a job. Mr. Sewer has the right equipment to do the job and the experienced service technicians that make the job look easy.

Chemical drain cleaning products are usually just money poured down the drain.

Liquid drain cleaners can dilute in standing water and be of little help. Some products can produce toxic fumes that can burn lung tissues and cause putrid odors throughout the house. Many chemical root killers will wash out of the sewer line before they come in contact with tree roots. Tree roots usually grow through the upper half of clay tile, while the water flows on the bottom half. Without making contact the product is almost useless.

Fortunately, your Mr. Sewer technician has the proper equipment to remove tree roots, debris, and other obstructions from your drain and sewer lines. People often comment on how they could call Mr. Sewer for about the same price they paid for over the counter products or machine rentals, that didn’t work, plus they spare themselves all the frustration and aggravation, as well.

Doing it yourself is fine for many projects, but when it’s a sewer or drain problem, call Mr. Sewer, Your Drain Expert.
